MORE THAN 40 YEARS PROMOTING MARBLE AND NATURAL STONE

The Association Mármol de Alicante has represented the natural stone sector since its foundation in 1977. In 2003 it evolved from a provincial to a regional level.

The Association brings together the most important companies in the sector in the Valencian Community with the aim of joining forces, promoting industrial progress, digitalisation, sustainability, circular economy and defending common objectives.

The quarrying and processing of ornamental
rock is one of the most important sectors,
both economically and socially, in the Medio
Vinalopó region, where the so-called
“Corredor del Mármol” (Marble Corridor) is
located. This “Corredor del Mármol” is
formed by the following municipalities:
Novelda, Monforte del Cid, Pinoso, Algueña,
La Romana, Monóvar, Elda and Villena.

The aim of the Association is to provide
companies in the sector with collective
solutions and tools for common problems.
The natural stone sector is divided into three
main blocks: quarrying industries, processing
workshops and traders.

The marble sector of the Valencian
Community stands out for being the main
extractor and processor of natural stone in
Spain. According to the Spanish Institute for
Foreign Trade (ICEX) data, from the point of
view of stone exportations, Alicante is the
2nd, Castellón the 6th and Valencia 9th in
the national ranking.

Currently, the companies associated with Mármol de Alicante, Asociación de la Comunidad Valenciana work in more than 100 sites located both in Spain and abroad.
These companies are equipped with a specialised marketing network and the highest technology and professional capacity to meet any demand, however challenging it may be.

The Valencian Community is an area rich in lithic materials.

The stone is intimately linked to the beginnings of its history. Limestones, marbles, calcarenites and dolomites, among which are: Crema Marfil®, Rojo Alicante®, Dark Emperador®, Gris Pulpís, Piedra Bateig, Spanish Gold, Crema Buixcarró or Rosa Valencia. We can also find a good number of varieties spread throughout the country in all architectural styles: Classical, Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, Modernist or Art Deco.
